Mongolian Beef in the Slow Cooker

Ingredients
  • 750 g stew beef (f.e. chuck)
  • 2 - 3 tbsp corn starch
  • 1 large onion
  • 150 ml soy sauce
  • 150 ml water
  • 150 g dark brown sugar
  • 2 cloves of garlic (crushed or finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp freshly grated ginger
Instructions
  1. Cut the meat into thin strips.

  2. Put the strips into a zip lock bag and add the corn starch.

  3. Seal the bag and shake until all the meat is covered with corn starch.

  4. Peel and slice the onion.

  5. Mix soy sauce, water, sugar, garlic and ginger.

  6. Pour the sauce in the slow cooker.

  7. Add the meat and onion and stir.

  8. Let cook on low for 5 hours.

  9. Serve over white rice and pickled vegetables.
